BASICS TO ADVANCED SEWING COURSE FOR BEGINNERS.

Learn the foundation of sewing skills and get the confidence to sew garments and other projects by the end of the course.

This sewing course gives you everything you need to become an excellent seamstress, with easy hints, tips, and explanations. Sewing is the activity of making, modifying, and mending clothes using a needle and thread and is considered by many people to be an essential skill. Even for those who don’t need to know how to sow, it can be a relaxing and creative activity!

Who is the course for?

It is a skill which is in high demand and to find excellent craftsmanship in communities and societies.  Sewing has become even more prevalent to people who are looking for special garments and others. Any time any place sewing skill you can earn a living with  it.

Learning Path

  • Introduction to the sewing machine, threading, tension and stitch basics. Different types of needles and what they are used for. Basic types of seams.
  • Principles of cutting and measuring, different fabric types and reading a pattern.
  • Learning basic pattern reading on how to cut on the grainline and Sew straight lines using different fabrics
  • Practising cutting, accurate sewing and making a 3-dimensional design
  • Basic measurements to trace out patterns of sizes with pants and inset the elastics
  • Basics working with curves and what to do to ensure the curves come out beautifully.
  • Basics on teaching you how to sew in a zip. You will make two pencil cases, one lined and one unlined.
